The Cheney Knights had disastrous Night that put them safely in a relegation fight as they lost to the same team for the Second Week running on a hot and pleasant Night in Hathern.Captain Sam Burdett was playing with Ryan Shaw and Dave Whait and they got a 2 on the First end and that was as good as it got as the Crowns took the next 13 points as the Knights just rolled over therefore losing the game 13-2,Vice-Captain Richard Wesson was playing with Tristan Hooper and Joe Steele and it was not any better from them as they went 12-1 down before getting One more before the Crowns wrapped the game up 13-2,So at Half Time against a team level on points in the League as them and now 2-0 down the Knights had to do something so it really was all to play for.In the Second set of games Sams team went 9-3 up and all looked to be going good but the Hathern team clawed their way back and it has to be said that on the Night the Crowns had all the luck and before long the Crowns had won it 13-10,Richards game started off badly for the Gaddesby team but the Knights pulled it back to go 8-7 before the Crowns got 5 on the last end and the Knights humiliation was complete as they lost 13-7,So the Final Score was 4-0,52-21.
Captain Sam said afterwards that this is really not good enough at all and each and every member of the team needs to stand up and be counted,He also said that some members of the team are expecting the Knights to pull off the great escape like they did last season but games need winning now not start thinking about it further down the line,He lastly added that the Cheney Knights are a Premier League team and some People are not playing like Premier League players after all it took to get the team there and those People need to really take a look at themselves and knuckle down from now until the last Boule is thrown at end of the season.

The Cheney Knights crashed out of the Cup in a hard fought game at the Second Round stage against a fellow Premier League team on a hot and picturesque Night in Gaddesby.Captain Sam Burdett was with Ryan Shaw and Joe Steele and their game was quite even all the way through with some great pointing from Ryan but with the game on 12-12 the Crowns took in 13-12,Over on the other piste Vice-Captain was with Dave Whait and Charles Parker and they seemed to be just far enough ahead and they had the game sewn up with some still left in the tank winning 13-7,So at Half time the Cheney had the points advantage which is very important in Cup games and the score was 1-1 so it really was all to play for.In the Second set of games Sam’s team went 9-3 down and all looked buried and with things not looking good on the other Piste the Knights had to get at least an 8 and hope Richards team could also come back and win or they had to go for a big comeback, they did pull it back a bit but the Hathern team had the run of the Piste and won it 13-7,Richards team also went 8-3 down but somehow pulled it back and with some controversy of people picking boule up when they shouldn’t this game had it all but the Gaddesby team were the unlucky Ones and the Crowns won 13-11 although the Knights came desperately close on the Night so the final score was 3-1,46-43.
Captain Sam said afterwards that this was a game the Knights should have won and His 3 have to shoulder a lot of the responsibility for that,He also said that they need to up their game for the following Week when they are playing the same team again,Before lastly saying that the Knights now have to forget about the Cup as it is gone and with Next Weeks game the halfway point His team need to make every shot count from now until the end of the season.

The Cheney Knights made an impressive comeback from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 in a game they should have won which pulled them out of the relegation zone on a warm Night in Gaddesby.Captain Sam was playing with Ryan Shaw and Dave Whait and they were fast out of the traps taking a 9-3 lead but from then on each end the Sleepers clawed their way back and with the game at 11-11 the Glenfield team won it 13-11,Over on the other Piste Vice-Captain Richard Wesson was playing with Tristan Hooper and Joe Steele and they were just not at the races as the Sleepers romped to a 13-5 win,So at Half-time with the Knights 2-0 down and facing a 4-0 defeat for the Third Week running if the Knights were going to stop the rot it really was all to play for.In the Second set of games Sams team made very short work of it getting a 4 on One end and a 5 on another with some great play from Ryan and they learnt their lesson from the First game and put it to bed early with the Gaddesby team winning 13-5,Richards game was a much closer affair until around the 8 mark the Knights pulled clear and won the game 13-8,So the Final score was 2-2,42-39.
Captain Sam said afterwards that after the previous 2 Weeks His team could have crumbled at 2-0 down but had the guts to keep going with both teams improving massively in the latter games,He also added that His own team should have won their First game and should always keep their eye on the prize,Before Lastly adding that although the Knights are out the relegation zone now on points difference every single player needs to buckle down as The hard work starts here and finishes at the end of the season.

The Cheney Knights got a 4-0 thrashing for the second time in as many games to slip into the relegation zone on the most difficult piste in the league on a grey Night in Ratby.Captain Sam Burdett was playing with Ryan Shaw and Dave Whait and they lost 4 on the First end and that set the way the game went and although the Knights got 3 points the Farriers were too strong and won the game 13-3,Over on the other side Vice-Captain Richard Wesson was playing with Tristan Hooper and Joe Steele and they never got out the starting blocks and for the Second time this season lost 13-0 and if the Knights were to get anything out of game it really was all to play for.In the Second set of games Sams team took and impressive 9-3 lead before letting the Ratby team back into in and with the score at 11-11 the coch flicked out the back with the Gaddesby team with no boules in hand leaving the Farriers with 2 easy points to win the 13-11,Richards side on the other piste were the mirror image of Sams game and both Knights teams lost 4 on One end that made them crumble losing the game 13-9,So the final score was 4-0,52-23.
Captain Sam said afterward that there was a point in the second game when maybe a draw was possible and although the Farriers had a massive Home advantage the Knights need to stop the rot,He also said that the last 2 games were hard on paper and He was impressed with the way His team never gave up the the Second set of games and were both very unlucky,He lastly added that a line needs to be drawn and they need to look forward and get results from now until the end of the season.

The Cheney Knights may have been unlucky not to get at least One point but the were thrashed by the current Premier League Champions who played with only 5 players on a damp and muggy Night in Gaddesby.Captain Sam Burdett was playing with Ryan Shaw who has not got many games left and is due to quit in July due to work commitments and Dave Whait and they did not get off to a good start going 6-0 down on the First 2 ends but they clawed their way back but in the end the Peelers were too strong and won the game 13-8,Over on the other side Vice-Captain Richard Wesson was playing with Tristan Hooper and Joe Steele and although the Knights went behind early on by the end it was pretty even but the Hoby team had that extra gear and won the game 13-10,So at Half Time it was 2-0 and if the Knights were to get anything out of this game it really was all to play for.In the Second set of games Sams team were simply out pointed and although they got 6 points the Gaddesby team just watched as the Peelers went further and further ahead until they won it 13-6,Over on the other side Richards game was pretty even all the way through until with the scores at 11-11 the Peelers took it 13-11,So the final score was 4-0,52-35.
Captain Sam said after the game that this was a big come down after the previous Weeks 4-0 win and while playing with 5 players can be a big advantage and the Knights were good enough to let the Peelers play with 6 boule instead of 4 this was just simply not good enough,He then said that the pointing from His own team was poor and His team need to make the Cheney a fortress as it is playing very strangely since the new gravel was laid,He lastly added that while the Knights do have the Week off next Week due to them having a Bye in the Cup a practice session is needed as this proves this is going to be a long hard season.

The Cheney Knights finally got their season into gear with a 4-0 thrashing and strangely went One place above the relegation zone and joint top all on the same Night on a pleasant Night in Glenfield.Captain Sam Burdett was playing with Ryan Shaw and Dave Whait and they got off to a bad start but soon fought their way back and Once they took the lead from 6-6 their was only going to be One winner as the Knights won 13-6.Over on the other side Vice-Captain Richard Wesson was playing with Tristan Hooper who was making a very welcome return having not played for over Two Years and Joe Steele and they thrashed the Weaker of the 2 Buffers teams 13-1,So at Half Time it was 2-0 to the Knights and all to play for,In the Second set of games Sams team took a 5-0 lead on the First end and never looked back with some white hot pointing from Ryan as although the Glenfield team got 4 points there was only ever going to be One outcome as the Knights took it 13-4,So no matter what now the Knights had won but if they were going to keep up with the rest of the league it simply had to be 4-0,Over on Richards game the Gaddesby team went 8-3 behind and it did not look good but gradually the Knights chipped away and with the Cheney needing 3 points to win Tristan pulled out the shot of the evening to take a boule out and the 4-0 Victory was sealed as the Knights won 4-0,52-21.
Captain Sam said afterwards He was pleased with this result especially as it was away from Home and no Premier league games are easy,He also added that special mentions should go to Joe who is playing far more relaxed and His play is improving and Tristan Who always has been and always will be a good player and there are times the Knights have missed Him over the Years and will hopefully now play when He can,He lastly added that it is good that the Knights are joint top but it is with 6 other teams so they need to take the good things out of this and move on as it is going to be a long hard season.

The Cheney Knights fought out a hard 2-2 draw in which both sides deserved half the spoils on a cold and dramatic Night as the season got going properly in Gaddesby.Captain Sam Burdett was paying with Ryan Shaw and Dave Whait and they were off to a flying start getting 4 in the First end and going 6-0 up and thats where it ended as the Woodies did not drop another pointand won the game 13-6,Over on the other side Vice-Captain Richard Wesson was playing with Kev Baker making His First appearance of the season and Joe Steele and they at a steady pace destroyed the Rothley team 13-3,So at Half Time the score was 1-1 and it was all to play for,In the Second set of games both teams did the reverse of what they had done in the First as Sam’s Team went 4-0 down before coming back and with the score at 11-8 to the Gaddesby team Sam pulled off 2 great take outs to win the game 13-8,While on the other side Richards team got thrashed 13-2,So the final score was 2-2,37-34.
Captain Sam said afterwards that on the whole this was not a bad result but the Knights need to raise the bar,He also added that when the Cheney are in good positions they need to learn to put results to bed,Before lastly adding that while this is a vast improvement on the 4-0 Cup win this is a better standard of player and the Knights need to buckle down from now until the end of the season.

The Cheney Knights got through to the First Round of the Cup in a game they made a lot harder work than they needed to against a team 4 Divisions below them on a pleasant Night in Gaddesby.Captain Sam was playing with Ryan Shaw and Mark Bent and they got off to a good start going 4-0 up and it looked to be plain sailing until the Oak got 4 on 1 end in it was level pegging all the way til 10-10 as Sam pulled off point after point when it was His 2 boule against the Cossington teams 4 boule and on the last end the Knights got 3 to win it 13-10.On the other side Vice-Captain Richard Wesson who had no luck all Night was playing with Dave Whait and Charles Parker and they seemed to Mirror Sams game by taking a healthy lead and then letting the Oak back into it but won it on a nail bitting last end winning 13-12,So at Half Time the score was 2-0 to the Cheney so they needed either to win a game or get 23 points between them so it was all to play for.In the Second set of Games Ryan and Mark raised their game and it was the walk in the park it should have been with the Gaddesby team getting 3 on the last end to win it 13-1.Over on the other side the Oak got 5 on the First end before the Knights got 5 on the Second end and another close encounter was on the cards but with Sams team already winning the pressure was off and Charles who played well on the Night rolled in to ensure a 13-11 win.
Captain Sam said afterwards that it shows how far His team have come by the fact that they were disappointed with a 4-0 win but if they had played like that against a Premier League team they would have been thrashed,He also said that He was impressed with Charles on the Night who was One of the shining lights on a very forgetable game,He lastly added that He was pleased to get through to the First round of the Cup but the Knights need to raise their Game if they are to have any success this season.

The Cheney Knights got off to a losing start but all 6 players showed promise as the Petanque season kicked off again on a pleasant but cold Night in Hathern.Captain Sam Burdett was with Ryan Shaw and Joe Steele and they were out the traps First taking a 3-0 lead before the Crowns made a comeback and started to play well and although the Knights got a few back the Hathern team took it 13-7,Over on the other side Vice-Captain Richard Wesson was joined on His team by Dave Whait and making His debut was Henry Whait after the Knights were badly let down earlier in the Day and the Crowns made quick work of it beating the Gaddesby team 13-0,So at Half Time it was 2-0 to the Three Crowns and if the Knights were going to get anything out of this it really was All to play for.In the Second set of Games Sams team went down early on before pulling it back to 10-7 before the Knights left themselves open on One end and were made to pay losing 13-7,Richard game was by far the most exciting of the Night and with the score set at 12-11 to the Knights but the Crowns with One on and boule still left to play Richard pulled out the shot of the Night which was never going to be beaten and the Knights won 13-11,So the final score was 3-1,50-27.
Captain Sam said afterwards that considering He had 5 players at 6.45pm and had to mix the teams up a bit while not the greatest result all players tried hard and gave a good account of themselves,He also said that in the Second game Henry had a good game and will definately be considered for future matches,He lastly added that all the dust had been blown away from any match practice needed and all players should be prepared for a long and hard season.
