The Gaddesby Gallopers are a group of runners based in the village, of mixed ages and abilities. They have trained and supported each other through half marathons, marathons and cycled coast to coast and from Gaddesby to Paris. Along the way they have raised over £50,000 for local charities.
From 2000 to 2005 they organised the Gaddesby Half Marathon, in some years with a 10km run held on the same day. They also organise the Gaddesby Gallop – a 5 ¼ mile cross country race held the last Saturday before Christmas. This was revived in 2011 after a break for a few years.

Our local running club are Wreake Runners based in Syston. Wreake Runners are members of the Leicestershire Road Running League and take part in their events – in addition to a Winter Cross country series. They meet at Wreake College at 19:00hrs every Tuesday and Thursday evening. For more details visit Wreake Runners.
