Minutes from the March Parish Council meeting

The March parish council minutes are now available to read.  They are on the parish council page with the other minutes from meetings this year. They can also be seen on this link.  I will post future minutes as they are available – but they have to be approved at the following meeting first.

If you have any points you would like to raise please see your local councillor.  Their contact details are given on the parish council page.

Or feel free to use the reply box below – and start an online conversation!

£10,000 available for village projects

Leicestershire County Council has made funds available to all of its Community Forums in the county.

Our Community Forum in Melton West will have £10,000 available this year for local communities to invest in local improvements of their choice.  They are looking for projects that can be delivered by March 2013.  Applications need to be in by 8th May 2012.

Applications can be up to £5,000.  All projects which are put forward can be seen and commented from 9th May on on the website below.  There is then a meeting of the Community Forum on 29th May where projects are discussed and the whole forum votes for which should get the money.  So this is a good example of participative funding.

For more information visit the forum’s Cash for your community website or see the Cash for your community flyer

Do we want High Speed Broadband? The County Council is after our support

Leicestershire County Council and Melton Borough Council are working in partnership to improve Broadband speed across the Borough over the next 12 to 18 months.

As Councillor Orson asks “To add your support for delivery of 30 megabyte broadband to your home or business premises, please take a few moments to check the link below and follow through to find a survey of your present usage”.

Please tell your friends and contacts about this survey – and help bring High Speed Broadband to Gaddesby.

Parish Council page completed

The Parish Council have agreed to use this website to display the minutes of council meetings so that Parishioners can follow council business.   I have added contact details for all the Councillors and the Parish Clerk, Trudy Toon.  The council and the Clerk are keen that parishioners contact them first regarding any items of concern so that they can take control of the response.  Remember that the parish council serves Ashby Folville and Barsby as well as Gaddesby.

I have also added in a link to the County Councils web site on Planning Applications in our area.
