Gallop 2013 | Gaddesby Village

The 2013 Gaddesby Gallop was held on Saturday 14th December 2013 and saw a record field of 145 runners. Conditions were near perfect – dry, not too cold but a little muddy underfoot. There’s a great video to watch thanks to our friends at Indigo Blue Media.

All the entrants tackled the course’s obstacles – firstly the especially aromatic dew pond, followed by a 10m drainage pipe and finally the brook crossing before a dash through the mud to the finish.

All of the entrants and the 40 strong team of marshals made it a great day!

Following the race, one of the runners told us “That was bonkers but brilliant,” which really sums up what the Gallop is all about!

2nd Place Ladies – Sarah Thorp West End RC 42.48
3rd Place Ladies – Isabelle Norledge St. Andrews 42.58

1st Local Mens – David Maguire Gaddesby Gallopers 40.22
1st Local Ladies – Ginny Tarelli Gaddesby Gallopers 55.22

As winners of the 1st Local Trophies. Ginny and David have been inducted into the legendary Gaddesby Gallopers as a result of their efforts on the day. Well done both of you!

Gaddesby Gallop Course map – Note one part of the course around the back of Ashby Folville is run over private land and is only available on the day of the race. If running the course at any other time turn left on reaching Ashby Folville and run through the village to the Carington Arms, before picking up the course again as it crosses Highfield End
